This century home’s underutilized addition received a new life that included bringing the laundry room up from the basement and adding custom laundry and mudroom cabinetry. With four doorways into this small room, effective space planning was essential to the project’s success.
A stand-alone design consultation. The clients were able to use the sketches to communicate the scope of work to their trades, price out the job, and start the custom cabinetry design process.

With so many competing priorities, the clients weren't sure how to make the best use of space, nor what uses were feasible. By the end of the design consultation they had a much better sense of movement in the space and how the design should flow into the surrounding rooms. They were also confident in continuing to work towards bringing the laundry room upstairs.
During the consultation the clients realized they would prefer having their laundry sink at kitchen counter height, rather than a continuous run of countertop at laundry machine height.
The initial design consultation got the project started on the right foot, and helped bring the client's vision to life.
